Ponca is a very special place to us, for many reasons. I grew up going to camp each summer and then started working as a counselor once I was in high school and college. Lawrence didn't ever attend Ponca as a camper, but enjoyed coming to several Young Adult Retreats there. We were finally at camp at the same time during the summer of 2004 when we were both counselors. Those 2 weeks paved the way for the beginning of a wonderful relationship! After we had been dating for about a year and a half, Lawrence took me on the Steel Creek hike and proposed at a beautiful spot overlooking the Buffalo River. We go back to Ponca each summer for camp, and this will be the 4th year that former students and kids from our church are joining us! Ponca is an amazing place, one we hold near and dear to our hearts!

Ah, the journey of life, with all its twists and turns, its ups and downs. As we travel along the path God has prepared for us, I figure I might as well share some of our adventures on the way. Maybe then, I can make a little better sense of things!
